The Bluehost $3.95 hosting promo has a minimum contract of 24 months, but I’d recommend going for more. When I first started hosting websites, the very first plan I bought was this particular bluehost 3.95 hosting. 3.95 is an extremely good price, and I went ahead and bought the maximum available at that time which was 36 months for 3.95 per month. It came out to $142.20 up front and then I didn’t have to worry about hosting for 3 whole years. Bluehost is a super reputable host, and I’m about 2 years into my 3 year 3.95 hosting promo without any issues.
Another thing I like about the company is that they don’t allow adult websites on the bluehost 3.95 promo plan, or any of their plans. I read a long time ago that the founder of the company, (who is also the founder of hostmonster.com) wanted to form a christian hosting company which has a zero tolerance policy for porn. Morally, I personally wouldn’t mind being on the same shared server as adult websites, however they are correlated with getting a LOT of traffic and using spammy blackhat techniques that could get your entire server slapped by google. Yikes. So for that reason alone, this companies servers put me as ease.

I have quite a bit of experience with hosts, and there are so many out there that don’t include the ease of cpanel, or charge for awstats (which is really important to me because you shouldn’t use google analytics), or have downtime or overload their servers/cpu or have bad customer service. There are only a handful (3 I can think of) besides bluehost and hostmonster that I could recommend with a clear conscience.
